Through the value-added services, members maximize (and/or even establish) market penetration and market share.The distributor or rep enhances consumer services and satisfaction, while actually reducing the overall distribution costs – thus increasing the manufacturer and dealer profitability.

Manufacturers, distributors, reps and dealers – are all vital links in the farm equipment marketing chain. And EMDA’s member wholesalers are the value added link between manufacturer and dealer. Your link to profitability and marketing success!

EMDA’s member firms are independent distributors and manufacturer’s representatives, located throughout the United States and Canada, who distribute a wide range of product lines including farm, light industrial, commercial, recreational, irrigation, lawn and garden, outdoor power equipment, light forestry, power transmission, turf maintenance, etc. They perform such value-added services as warehousing, in-field sales representation, advertising and promotion, product education, service requirements, warranty representation, physical handling and credit and collections. EMDA members provide the functions which lower the total cost of distribution and increase your market share.

How EMDA can help manufacturers find distribution partners in North America

EMDA News – we’ve transitioned from a traditional monthly newsletter, to a newsletter/blog.  We can include a “news release” about your company, your product and the fact that you are looking for distribution partners. It’s a great first start to introduce your firm to the distributors and reps. When we receive your news release, a draft version for the EMDA Newsletter/Blog is created and you’re given the opportunity to review it before it’s published in the News section of this web site. A weekly email highlighting new newsletter/blog posts from the past week is automatically sent to all EMDA members on Monday afternoons.

Membership Directory – full profiles of all member distributors and reps including contact information, territory coverage, product types each firm currently sells, and a business profile paragraph. Available on the Directory page of this web site as PDF files. And now a searchable Directory is online too.  It is also printed on a biennial basis with the next edition scheduled for publication in the Fall of 2014. The Directory also includes special indexes that help manufacturers locate distributors and reps based on the territory they cover or the product types they currently sell.

Associate Membership –available to individuals and organizations whose business is the supply of goods and/or services of interest to Regular members (distributors and reps). Dues are $325 per year (there is a cash discount of $30 if the dues are paid via check). Dues cover the membership year (January through December) and are not prorated if a firm joins in mid-year. Fall Convention – probably one of the primary reasons firms join EMDA. Historically, 85% of EMDA’s distributor members and 50% of rep members attend the Fall Convention each year.

Industry Showcase – tabletop booth show held in conjunction with the annual Fall Convention. Membership is not required, but Association members receive a discount on the exhibitor registration fee.
