The Board of Directors of EMDA, the Equipment Marketing & Distribution Association, is pleased to announce the recipient of the Association’s first Scholarship! The EMDA Education Scholarship Program was established to support EMDA’s member companies and their employees and dependents pursuing a career for the betterment of themselves and their employer. The Scholarship program was available to all EMDA member company owners, staff, employees, and dependents pursuing their goal toward a Degree, License, or Certificate.
A Scholarship Committee carefully reviewed submitted applications, along with the supporting information provided, and concluded that the application submitted by Blake Wolters most closely met the scholarship criteria. Blake is the son of Kevin & Cindy Wolters, and grandson of L. R. & Judy Sights, all of Clinton, Oklahoma. L. R. and Kevin are the principals at Southwest Distributing Co., an EMDA member since 1979. The Committee was impressed by Blake’s accomplishments, chosen field of study, and history of employment with Southwest Distributing.
A $2,500 award will be used for Blake’s studies during the 2019-2020 school year at Southwest Oklahoma State University, where Blake plans to major in Accounting & Finance.
As the 2019 EMDA Scholarship Recipient, Blake is responsible to offer a report about himself, his studies and the role he hopes to play in the industry. Blake will be invited to make a brief presentation during the EMDA Fall Convention this November 5-7 at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. If he can not attend, his report will be presented to the general membership by the EMDA Board.
Congratulations to Blake and best of luck to you this Fall at Southeastern Oklahoma State!
