04/18/2020 – Daily update from NAW Government Relations Team
There is nothing new to report this morning on funding for PPP and/or the launch of the Main Street Lending Program. We will send an additional update this weekend should new information become available.
Yesterday, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released version 3.0 of Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During COVID-19 Response.
Upon review of the updated (version 3.0) guidance, it appears that the vast majority of changes are clarifying in nature. However, it does expand critical infrastructure workers in some categories. Additionally, most of the references to “employees” and “contractors” were changed to the broader term of “workers” to bring as many workers as possible under the umbrella of the guidance.
NAW continues to work closely with CISA to ensure that the needs of wholesaler-distributors are adequately included in CISA’s guidance to ensure the delivery of critical supplies across the nation during this pandemic. As we have previously reported, this CISA memorandum is meant to help state and local officials determine how to protect their communities while also ensuring the security and resiliency of critical infrastructure. Ultimately state governors and local official guidance will vary based on state and region.
