In more of my tech upgrades, I’ve been transitioning from Office XP (that’s from 2002) to Office 2013. Part of the transition process is upgrading the way I do the Association’s newsletter. I’ve always used PageMaker to create the newsletter, save it as a PDF file and attach it to emails generated in Outlook. Well, PageMaker was discontinued in 2004 or so, but the program still does a great job with page layout.
The first issue for 2014 (Click on the Newsletter tab above to read it) was still created in PageMaker, but now I’m trying MailChimp for the distribution of the newsletter. MailChimp is a web-based email marketing service. It helps you design email newsletters, share them on social networks, integrate with services you already use, and track your results. I’d hoping to be able to move the design/layout portion to MailChimp too, and post the individual stories on this web site too. My plan is to try to be much more timely in getting news out to members — so keep your eyes on your inbox — and keep the news coming!
