Remembering Ed Liles: A Legacy of Leadership and Partnership

The EMDA community is saddened to learn of the passing of longtime member Ed Liles, who passed away on July 29, 2025.

Ed was a familiar and respected figure within EMDA for many years, known for his leadership, integrity, and dedication to the equipment distribution industry. As the owner of Alliance Distributing, Ed built a strong reputation for quality service and trusted relationships across the dealer and manufacturer networks. In 2014, Alliance Distributing was acquired by General Implement, marking a significant transition in the business but not the end of Ed’s presence in our community. His contributions, insights, and friendship remained appreciated long after.

Those who had the opportunity to work alongside Ed remember him not only as a savvy businessman but also as someone who truly embodied the spirit of EMDA—collaborative, community-minded, and committed to supporting the growth of our industry.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Ed’s family, friends, and former colleagues. His legacy leaves a lasting impression, and he will be missed by many.
