I have received notice that some members are receiving SCAM calls from a company trying to sell hotel reservations for the RIO Hotel in Las Vegas. Apparently, the person on other end said: “I see you have not booked your room at the RIO for the “FEWA Fall Convention” and they could book it at $210 instead of the $230 rate?”
This is NOT a valid offer — Convention registration and hotel reservations are made only through EMDA office or FEMA office — our room rate is $99.
The scam may also may also come as an email: If you receive email from “ntarooms.com” or anything from “National Travel Associates”, it is part of this scam.
I have called the company and advised them that I am telling our members to beware of this scam.
I am finalizing a couple of items for the EMDA Fall Convention agenda and plan to send registration material out to all members next week.
